Beth Burkhardt, L. Ac., M. Ac.: Healer-Artist-Teacher-Reverend.

Coming home to yourself through acupuncture

Life is a journey, filled with wonder and challenges. As people move  through their lives and are challenged beyond their current capabilities they need support and new ways to function. This can take the form of gathering information and putting it into practice. It could also be participating in modalities that restructure the interior at body mind spirit levels. Acupuncture works at an energetic level that organizes the body mind spirit to return to its original condition of balance. This establishes an organic foundation for overall health and well-being. Building on this foundation then allows work on the chronic health issues so that intervention can be a lasting investment of time, money and resources.

Beth Burkhardt brings to her practice a lifelong passion for discovery, openness to life, the soul of a healer, and the intuitive spirit of an artist. Drawing upon over 50 years as educator and teacher, she uses Traditional Acupuncture and deep wisdom to awaken, promote and reinforce the individuals natural balance. Whether through one treatment or a series of sessions, she guides a healing process of transformation. When people realize their authenticity, what is needed becomes simpler to recognize . Beth can extend subtle reminders both with the needles and with words. In other cases,
especially in times of growth, change, injuries, or when facing challenges, peoples needs must be more actively addressed. At these times the rate and intensity of the acupuncture treatments increase.

The treatments involve initial information gathering, both verbally and energetically, followed by work with the points along the meridians and vessels. The work with the points is done with touch and/or needles and/or moxibustion and/or press pellets. There are some people who can not tolerate needles. Beth uses these other tools to stimulate the points. And in some cases the work can be done at a distance through meditation on the points. This has proved to be very successful over distances as far away as a thousand ;miles or more.

Beth began working in acupuncture in 1987 after being in treatment herself for 15 years. She subsequently joined small practices in both Silver Spring and Boonsboro, Maryland. In Silver Spring with The Spectrum Center for Natural Healing and in Boonsboro with Healing Hands. Both of these groups of practitioners have created environments that support the pursuit of wellness using a variety of healing modalities. The interactions and blending of diverse forms
and styles with over 15 different practitioners gives these centers a breadth and depth of knowledge to better support the diversity of clients.

Traditional Acupuncture, with its 4000 year history, has historically developed practitioners of this ancient healing art to be skilled in medicine, art and the spiritual. Beth's training, experience, and interests span a range of forms and disciplines which are integrated into her everyday life and throughout her practice. These include:
